Maria Miroshnichenko is a multidisciplinary photographic artist, researcher, psychologist, and eco-philosopher working at the intersection of visual art, science, digital technologies, and contemporary aesthetics. In the artistic and cultural fields, she is also known by her creative pseudonym Masha Melnik, which she has used since the early 2000s.

In her photographic practice, Maria explores the process of transformation — the meeting point between the recognizable and the unfamiliar — and the power of visual language as a tool of self-exploration. For her, art is not defined by form but by the unfolding process of emotional, cultural, and inner change.
She describes herself as an aesthete and a seeker. Photography, in her view, is not illustration but a way to speak about the complexity of the human soul, to attune perception, and to access what is often beyond words.

Her creative work is deeply intertwined with the philosophy of space, shaped by her original methodology of Spatially-Oriented Psychology. For Maria, photography is an act of subtle alignment between the inner and outer worlds — a path toward restoring a sense of integrity, rootedness, and meaning.
Maria is also the author of several books on environmental psychology, the philosophy of living space, and systemic eco-thinking. Her major works include:
“The Living Environment in the Quantum Space”,
“The Path to Emotional Freedom”,
“Spatially-Oriented Psychology”,
“The Russian Code”, and others.
Her research combines cognitive science, ecological and architectural psychology, somatic therapy, Eastern philosophical traditions, and phenomenological approaches. She explores how natural and architectural forms affect the psyche and how environments can be used to support emotional transformation and deep healing.
Maria has been recognized as Poet and Writer of the Year for her cultural contributions in 2019, 2023, and 2025.
She is a member of the Professional Psychotherapeutic League and the International Association of Art Therapists.
В своём художественном творчестве Мария исследует процессы трансформации, соприкосновение узнаваемого и непривычного, силу визуального языка как инструмента самопознания. Основной темой её искусства становится не столько форма, сколько сам процесс превращения — эмоционального, культурного и внутреннего.
Мария определяет себя как эстета и исследователя. Фотография для неё — не иллюстрация и не репрезентация, а способ говорить о сложности человеческой души, о тонкой настройке восприятия и внутренней жизни человека в мире.

Мария — лауреат литературных премий имени А.С. Пушкина и «Святая Русь»; отмечена как «поэт и литератор года» в 2019, 2023 и 2025 годах.
Состоит в Профессиональной психотерапевтической лиге и Международной ассоциации арт-терапевтов.
